We supply martensitic stainless steel bars AISI 410, also known as W.1.4006 and X12Cr13, directly from stock. These designations refer to the same steel grade, identified under different standardization systems depending on the applicable reference standard.

AISI 410 Stainless Steel: Properties and Typical Applications

AISI 410 is a martensitic stainless steel containing approximately 11.5–13.5% chromium. It can be hardened through heat treatment, offering a good combination of mechanical strength, hardness and moderate corrosion resistance.

It is commonly used in applications requiring high mechanical strength, hardness and wear resistance, under conditions of relatively moderate exposure to corrosion. Typical applications include shafts, bushings, pump and valve components, fasteners and wear-resistant parts.

Its corrosion resistance is generally lower than that of austenitic stainless steels such as AISI 304 or AISI 316. However, following appropriate heat treatment, it offers significantly higher hardness and mechanical strength.
