We carry out deep hole drilling in our service centre, on bars from our own stock or on material you send us.
When deep hole drilling is needed
When the required depth to diameter ratio of a hole is greater than 1:10, the work calls for tight tolerances, high precision, straightness and a low roughness of the machined surface.
We carry out axial deep hole drilling in two ways:
- gun drilling, for holes under 20 mm in diameter;
- BTA, with drilling heads fitted with indexable inserts, for holes up to 88.9 mm in diameter.
The drilling depth is 1500 mm. We can extend the drilled length to 2200 mm, machining from both ends of the bar.
Materials we work with
We work with the grades we distribute: stainless steels, alloyed and tool steels, refractory steels and nickel base alloys. The full list is in the grade table.
One supplier
The material, the cutting to length, the deep hole drilling and, where needed, the CNC machining and surface treatment come from one supplier. You receive parts ready for the next operation, without coordinating several partners.
What to include in your enquiry
- the steel grade, or the application if the grade is not fixed yet;
- the diameter and length of the bar;
- the diameter and depth of the hole;
- the tolerances required and the quantity.
